Expanding the Reality of Campus
The Minnesota State Immersive Project was launched in 2020 to bring immersive learning short courses to Minnesota State Colleges & Universities' faculty and staff. We have created content that we believe is current and most relevant to the use of these technologies in higher education. Minnesota State faculty and staff can enroll in these workshops free of charge.
Introduction to 360 Camera
In this short course, we provide an introduction to 360° media and using a consumer-level 360° camera. 360° photos and video are a powerful extension of the traditional 2D space. They introduce a novel and unique level of interactivity and immersion and have the power to increase, among others, engagement, and empathy. This short course is three weeks long with an expected time investment of two hours per week. We will provide you with a high-quality consumer-level camera to become familiar with the technology and collect photos and videos. The short course will also cover working with software and understanding hosting solutions. Please note that you must return the camera promptly at the end of the short course.

Teaching with Augmented Reality
This short course will help you construct a working definition of Augmented Reality and use it to dig deeper into Augmented Reality as a concept, and in a very pragmatic way to acquire an understanding and skills needed to apply AR for teaching and learning. Examining AR in a low-end and high-end approach will help you determine how to use it in immersive teaching and learning. Working with basic instructional design concepts will further help you contemplate a feasible project to use AR in your classroom. This workshop is three weeks long with an expected time investment of two hours per week.
